Crab Feed and Auction

Snake River JACL all you can eat "Crab Feed and Auction" on Friday, Feb 26, 6pm, at Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario. Serving crab, fried oysters, fried cod fillets, rice, salad, french bread, ice cream, beverages plus usually beer (maybe macaroni & cheese for the kids.). Silent and live auction. $30. for adults, other prices for teens/children, children under 5 are free. This is our only scholarship fundraiser for the year. Limited seating. MUST CALL Mike or Mary Ann at 541-889-8691 for reservations!

Hula Girls

Location:FRCC theater in Ontario

JACL showing of "Hula Girls" on Sunday, March 21, 2pm at FRCC theater in Ontario. Movie is based on a true story in Japan that occurred in 1965. Coal miners' daughters learn to become hula dancers. Funny and dramatic, it will make you laugh and cry. In Japanese, with English subtitles. Students from our sister city Osakasayama, will be visiting at that time (March 19-April 1). FREE!

Korean Traditional Drum

The Idaho Korean Association presents the Shinmyoung Samulnori Team, a professional band from Korea, performing a show celebrating the country's cultural heritage. The stage fills with the sounds of the Samulnori traditions and instruments including Jing and Kkwaenggwari, large and small gongs; Janggu, the Korean hourglass-shaped drum; a Buk (barrel drum) and other drums of all sizes. Musical instruments provide the sound for folk dancers and acrobats as they glide and fly through the air. Samulnori is a Korean folk genre made up of traditional percussion, music and rituals. The traditional practice dates back thousands of years and is performed in farming villages to ensure successful rice harvest. Admission is free; donations to support the Idaho Korean Association are appreciated. FREE

Please come early to reserve your seats, since there are only 435 sheets in this auditorium.
