Yama Taiko

Yamataiko was founded in 2013 in Idaho Falls. They have performed at many occations in Idaho Falls, Pocattello and Boise. Their director, Janet Youngblood was the founder of Manhattan Taiko in New York. After retiring, she relocated to Idaho Falls and organized a new Taiko group and has been performing regularly.

Japan Day 2016

The 9th annual event was held on September 5th, Labor Day. Like Father, Like Son

Idaho Japanese Association hosted social hour before “Like Father, Like Son” Movie event. This movie took the Jury Prize at Cannes on Sunday, the first Japanese win in the category since 1987, Best of 2014 Palm Springs International Film Festival. During Social hour, Japanese books and DVDs were sold.

Boise 150th Sesqui-Party

IJA participated Boise 150th Sesqui-Party with Global Lounge. We enjoyed variety of performance from all over the world including Japanese koto and Kamishibai (Japanese picture story telling). We also celebrated Tanabata star festival by hanging our wishes to the bamboo tree.
